Conscience, said Hamlet, does make cowards of us all, and in these troubled times, the social arm of mine has been making itself a positive bully. I’ve started dabbling in some activism, with which I’d like to become more involved; I’ve begun to help some students at a local high school; and most recently, and more than a little to my own surprise, I appear to have volunteered to join the board of directors of a philanthropic organization.

All worthy causes, obviously; but if I am to treat them with the attention they all deserve, then something has to give. So, for the foreseeable future, I’m going back two and a half years to the beginning of this blog and re-running my posts since then, mostly in order.
I’m not going away by any means. I’ll still be here to respond to comments; if there’s something new I want to say, I’ll certainly say it; and meanwhile, the freed-up writing time will give me more opportunity to read and respond to the amazing other blog posts I’m seeing on Substack.
For those of you who feel they’ve had enough of me the first time around, thanks for riding with me so far on the journey, and happy trails for the future; for those who want to return with me now to those thrilling days of yesteryear, stick around and see where it all began …

Yesteryear it is then. X
